Global Parliamentarians Forum – Santa Marta
The Parliamentarians for a Fossil-Free Future network has been entrusted to lead the global parliamentary engagement process at the First International Conference on the Just Transition Away from Fossil Fuels in Santa Marta, Colombia.

This historic gathering brings together governments, civil society, workers, Indigenous Peoples, and financial actors to advance practical pathways for a just and orderly transition away from fossil fuels. Within this process, parliamentarians are recognized as a distinct and critical stakeholder group — with a central role in translating global commitments into national laws, budgets, and accountability mechanisms.
From dialogue to action:
a shared parliamentary agenda is taking shape.
Through regional consultations, a global parliamentary survey, and the Global Parliamentarians’ Forum on 26 April 2026, legislators from across regions will consolidate political priorities and contribute directly to the Conference outcomes. The network will also facilitate parliamentary participation in the High-Level Segment and convene strategic side events to strengthen legislative leadership for fossil fuel phase-out.
Santa Marta represents a defining opportunity to position parliamentarians as key drivers of implementation — bridging global ambition and domestic transformation.
